Heterogeneous Data Integration on Semantic Web using Multi-Agent Ontology Matching Framework

G. Pandian and K. Saravanan

Abstract:

The increasing number of ontologies of the Semantic Web poses new challenges for ontology mapping. Ontologies can differ in representation, quality, and size that pose different challenges to ontology mapping, on analyzing these challenges and to introduce a multi agent ontology mapping framework that has been designed to operate effectively in the Semantic Web environment. We integrate a number of ontology present on the web and make it as a single integrated ontology framework. Our objective is to provide a mapping framework for multiagent ontology having heterogeneous data in the semantic web and develop a question answering system from the developed framework of ontology's. We present a novel approach of how Dempster-Shafer belief functions can be used to represent uncertain similarities created by both syntactic and semantic similarity algorithms. We also discuss the problems which can be encountered if we have conflicting beliefs between agents in a particular mapping.
