Reducing Handoff Delay using Neural Network in Vehicular Environment

J. Priya and T. Shanmuga Priya

Abstract:

In vehicular environments, the main terminal devices are vehicles, which offer higher mobility than handheld devices. Under such conditions, the handoff often occurs when the terminal devices move from one basic service set to another for data exchange. Therefore the handoff must be especially considered while designing the communication protocols. Based on different vehicular environments, this paper probes into the handoff and proposes to establish the geographical fingerprint by artificial neural network (ANN) and adjust the transmitted power of access points (APs) according to the weathers to maintain the service region and signal strength. In order to improve the stability of the neural network, and to overcome the time-varying delays due to the external environment, the proposing system here implements the delay decomposing approach in neural networks to reduce time-varying delays. This approach uses novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii (L-K) functional decomposing the delays in all integral terms.
